Harish DadooHarish Dadoo. Co-Founder & Managing Partner.

Prior to founding D&A in 1994, Mr. Dadoo had an 11 year dual career as an independent  consultant who advised and introduced global investment banks and foreign multinationals on M&A, JV transactions in Mexico, while concurrently having founded and managing a retail chain of bakery and convenience stores that successfully grew to 11 units exclusively through strong internal cash generation. Such macro and micro business experiences have provided him with a distinctive, pragmatic perspective in approaching investment banking projects.

Between his college and graduate degrees, he worked for 2 years at General Motors Mexico as an industrial engineer, rising to acting superintendent.

Mr. Dadoo holds an MBA degree from Stanford GSB and a S.B. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also holds a AD-2 Senior Management Degree from IPADE. Mr. Dadoo graduated from the American School in Mexico City.

He has lived and was educated in Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, and the US.

He participates as Board Member for several privately-held and public companies, as well as educational and community institutions in Mexico.

For 10 years, Mr. Dadoo was a pro bono professor of Finance and Entrepreneurship at  Universidad Iberoamericana. He is actively involved in various youth orientation and community organizations.

Until 2004 he has represented BBVA Bancomer and other major Mexican Financial Institutions in a wide range of operational and financial restructuring projects for its debtors and investments, either as CEO, Board Member, or consultant to the individual companies. These have included SurtiHogar, Salinas y Rocha, Calzados Canadá, Buró de Crédito, and Hotel investments.

Previously, over a 12 year period, he was CEO of each of the business units of Grupo Femsa having successfully achieved the objective to restructure their operations and significantly improving their profitability. These business units included the Beer, Packaging, Hotel, Processed Food, Retail, and Soft Drink (Coca Cola Femsa) divisions. 

From 1976 – 1980 he was CEO of Lance, the country’s 2nd largest biscuit and pasta manufacturer. He executed its operational turn-around and later unsolicited sale to Purina. In addition, from 1959 – 1976 he was with Pfizer as Country Manager in Mexico, in Perú, as well as in various management positions in Argentina.

He holds a S.M. degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University and a S.B. degree in Chemistry from Bombay University.

Mr. Dadoo actively serves in various business advisory and community Boards. He is also a guest lecturer on management strategy at the Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Mr. Vargas joined the firm in 2003 as an Analyst upon obtaining the S.B. degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (Cum Laude).

Starting in the fall of 2007, he attended the Sloan School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, having been granted the MBA degree in May 2009. He rejoined the firm as Associate in August 2009.

He participated in a broad range of assignments covering automobile distribution, auto parts, coating, construction developer & construction material, education, financial, food, insurance, retail, steel, waste management and editorial projects.

Gerardo RuizGerardo Ruiz. Associate.

Mr. Ruiz joined the firm as an Intern in January, 2006. He holds a S.B. degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Iberoamericana (Cum Laude).

Has participated in auto part, coating, construction developer & construction material, financial, food, insurance, pharma, retail and steel projects.

Mr. Ruiz will be joining the UCLA MBA program in the fall of 2009.
